The 2024 USA Basketball Club Championships are scheduled to begin in Rock Hill, South Carolina

2024 USA Basketball Club Championships:

After a hectic three day period at the U.S Open Basketball Championships in June USA Basketball will bring back its national youth tournament circuit with the 2024 USA Basketball Club Championships from July 22 to 30 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Hosted at the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center, the event aims to give aspiring male and female college basketball players a preview of the typical student-athlete experience offered through the tournament pathway tier of the NCAA College Basketball Academy.

Scheduled for July 22 to 26 the male competition will include 24 teams of tenth graders and 16 teams of ninth graders. The women’s competition following the same schedule as before will take place from July 26 to July 30.

All 16 teams in the men’s and women’s tournaments for ninth grade participants will begin the club championships by wearing their cleats and being divided into four pools, each with four teams. After two pool play games, the top two teams in each group move on to the gold bracket while the other teams compete in the silver tournament.

On the flip side, the tenth graders will begin their Club Championship quests in eight groups of three.

Similar to the ninth graders, the top two teams from every pool will progress to the gold brackets. The eight teams entering the silver circuit have qualified by losing in the round of 16 of the gold bracket. The third ranked teams in each group will secure a spot in the eight team bronze bracket.

Both the ninth and tenth grade division championship matches in the gold bracket will be televised on the last day of the competition.

Almost all of the 80 teams traveling to Rock Hill for this year’s club championships earned a bid from the USA Basketball selection panel. One spot was set aside for the winner of the previous year’s U.S. Open Basketball Championships.

Beyond the basketball court aspiring college athletes will participate in a set of classes focusing on NCAA eligibility and compliance, the recruitment process opportunities related to name, image, and likeness agents and the transfer portal.

Teams must attend these sessions daily with their coaches while in South Carolina. Parents and chaperones will participate in life skills lessons that are separate and held at the same time.

Just like the U.S. Open Basketball Championships the men’s and women’s Club Championships also aim to offer opportunity, standards, and quality to grassroots basketball under USA Basketball’s youth initiative. Each USA Basketball national tournament places importance on following USA Basketball youth guidelines, including player segmentation and safety, while also offering a blend of intense competition and enjoyment.

All NCAA staff members have USA Basketball Gold License certification and have undergone background screening through Safe Sport in partnership with USA Basketball to provide the best possible collegiate level experience for the next generation of basketball players.
