Senator Mark Kelly was considered as a strong choice for Vice President on the Harris campaign

Senator Mark Kelly

Senator Mark Kelly was considered as a possible VC:

With Joe Biden relinquishing his position as the Democrats’ presidential nominee, a Senator from Arizona is gaining attention as a potential Vice Presidential candidate on the ticket.

There was speculation that Sen. Mark Kelly could potentially take Joe Biden’s place as the Presidential nominee. Kelly has announced his backing for Kamala Harris on Sunday, yet he is still considered a potential candidate for the Vice President position.

Kelly meets many criteria that are advantageous in the field of politics: he served as a Navy Combat Pilot and was also an astronaut. NASA carefully chooses and prepares astronauts to excel in problem solving, remaining calm under pressure, and collaborating effectively in teams.

He has had great success raising funds as he pursues a Senate seat in Arizona—a crucial swing state leaning Republican but increasingly open to electing Democrats.

Former Senator Dennis DeConcini represented Arizona in the Senate for a period of 18 years. He believes Kelly would make a suitable candidate for either President or Vice President.

Sen. DeConcini believes he wouldn’t compete with Kamala Harris, but he is capable of performing the duties. I am very familiar with him. He would make a great Vice President. He is highly qualified, and being in a swing state like Arizona would be a major advantage in my opinion.

Senator DeConcini believes that Kelly’s lack of political experience is an advantage in today’s political climate.
