Algeria boxer Imane Khelif wins first Olympic fight:

Imane Khelif and Angela Carini traded rapid punches during their 46-second match in the Paris boxing ring. The reasons convinced Carini that her first Olympic appearance was over.

The Italian boxer suddenly left her Algerian opponent and headed to her corner on Thursday, leaving the match a highly uncommon event in Olympic boxing.

Carini was later visited by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who comforted the boxer in a picture shared on Meloni’s Instagram account.

Meloni wrote to Angel, expressing confidence in her perseverance and predicting that one day she will achieve success through hard work and determination. In a competition where finally there is equality.

Algeria boxer Imane Khelif a successful amateur achieved a silver medal at the 2022 world championships of the International Boxing Association. Banned from the Olympics since 2019 due to ongoing disputes with the IOC the IBA disqualified her from the previous year’s championships just before her gold-medal match for high testosterone levels.

The 25-year-old stepped into the North Paris Arena ring to a cheering crowd, but the audience was left puzzled by the fight’s abrupt conclusion. Italy coach Emanuele Renzini stated that he talked with Carini about the fight and suggested she could withdraw beforehand, but she was adamant on competing until the last minute.

Carini said she is heartbroken because she is a warrior. “My father instilled in me the values of a warrior.” I have consistently entered the arena with integrity and consistently been loyal to my country. This time I was unable to continue as I was too exhausted to keep fighting, leading me to concede the match.

Algeria boxer Imane Khelif has the potential to secure an Olympic medal if she wins her quarterfinal match on Saturday against Anna Luca Hamori who is Hungary’s initial Olympic female boxer.

Hamori showed no worry about engaging in a fight with Khelif.

“I have no fear” declared Hamori after defeating Marissa Williamson Pohlman of Australia. I am indifferent to the press coverage and social media. Winning the game would mean more to me if my opponent is a man.
