Reese is scoring an average of 13.5 points and grabbing a league-leading 12.0 rebounds per game in the WNBA. She is also the top player in the league, grabbing 4.8 offensive rebounds per game.

She is the second-highest scoring rookie. Reese was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on July 9, making her the first rookie of the season to receive this honor after averaging 16.8 points, 14.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the previous week. Reese and Caitlin Clark, the lone rookies in the all-star game this year, are currently the top two contenders for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

The league will take a break for one month, starting with the all-star break and followed by a pause for the summer Olympics. During this time, players from different teams in the WNBA will represent their home countries. Even with many changes in the team lineup and a new head coach, the Sky are currently ranked eighth in the league as they head into the All-Star break, putting them in a good position to make it to the postseason if they maintain their performance.
