Hunter Biden has decided to dismiss a lawsuit against Fox News for the unauthorized release of explicit images of him in a streaming series.
A lawyer for the son of the president submitted a voluntary dismissal notice in federal court in New York City on Sunday, following the lawsuit filed three weeks prior. It was not evident why the lawsuit was withdrawn and Biden’s lawyer did not promptly reply to email inquiry made on Monday.
The legal case concerned pictures featured in the TV show “The Trial of Hunter Biden” which premiered on Fox Nation in 2022. The show includes a “fake trial” of Hunter Biden for crimes he has not been charged with and shows pictures of him naked and participating in sexual activities as stated in the legal complaint.
The allegation stated that sharing private photos without his permission infringed upon New York’s revenge porn legislation.
When the lawsuit was filed, Fox News characterized it as having no merit and being completely politically driven. A Fox News representative mentioned that statement when prompted for further input on Monday.
The termination notice was submitted on the day President Joe Biden exited the 2024 White House race, unsettling the competition shortly before the election in less than four months.
