NAV, Bay Swag And Cash Cobain Get Explicit On “6AM Thoughts”

Cash Cobain

Cash weaves yet another dynamic beat.

NAV remains true to his style, possessing arguably the most constrained range among rappers. However, when paired with the right collaborators, the results are remarkably solid. Bay Swag and Cash Cobain prove to be the ideal partners, unlocking a strong NAV single in 2024. The duo recaptures the essence of their breakout hit “Fisherr” with “6AM Thoughts.” Although the title hints at introspective lyricism akin to Drake’s timestamp tracks, it is misleading. The trio is more focused on extending the romantic escapades from the previous night with their partners.

The beat is outstanding. Cash Cobain introduces his trademark start-and-stop rhythm, enhanced with extra embellishments. It feels as if the producer has applied a filter over his intricate drums, adding to the song’s dreamy vibe. There’s a vocal sample that hovers in the background, never dominating but enriching the overall texture.

Cobain and Bay Swag take on the first verse, essentially providing fans with a “Fisherrr” sequel. The lyrics are both playful and risqué, and their chemistry on the track makes NAV’s solo verse appear somewhat lackluster. NAV’s vocals may lack the energy of his peers, but he still manages to hold his ground. In the end, “6AM Thoughts” serves as another platform for Bay Swag and Cash Cobain to shine. NAV’s presence, though secondary, is still a welcome addition.

Quotable Lyrics:

“She the type to write your phone, blow it up, be fiendin’
I’m the type to watch her call, act like I ain’t see it
Like she the type of thot-a*s ho that act like she ain’t treeshin’
Finsta posted, but I’m really creepin’, we can make a vid and you could leak it”
