The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. based on a combination of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). One equivalent album unit equals one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported streams (or 1,250 paid/subscription streams) of the songs from an album. The full chart will be published on Billboard’s website on August 13.

The Tortured Poets Department‘s success this week was bolstered by several factors, including the release of five new digital album variants available exclusively through Swift’s official webstore, each priced at $4.99 and featuring one exclusive bonus track. The store also restocked three previously available digital variants and offered a signed CD edition, alongside a 13% discount on 16 physical variants of the album. These promotions contributed to the album’s 606% increase in sales, with album sales totaling 84,000 units, SEA units totaling 57,500 (equivalent to 75.43 million on-demand streams), and TEA units at 500.
